The Generac Guardian 18kW Home Standby Generator is designed to provide reliable backup power for your home during unexpected power outages. This package includes Wi-Fi monitoring and a 200-amp automatic transfer switch, helping keep essential household systems running when utility power is interrupted. It is suitable for homeowners who want dependable backup power for lighting, refrigerators, heating and cooling equipment, and other household appliances, depending on the home’s electrical load.
Powered by Generac’s G-Force 800 engine, this standby generator can operate on natural gas or liquid propane (LP), providing flexible fuel options. It delivers up to 18,000 watts on liquid propane and 17,000 watts on natural gas. True Power™ Technology provides clean, stable electricity with less than 5% total harmonic distortion, helping protect sensitive electronics and modern appliances.
The automatic transfer switch detects a utility power failure and transfers the home’s electrical load to the generator. When utility power returns, the system switches back automatically. The included 200-amp service-rated switch can support whole-home backup when the generator capacity and electrical load are properly matched.
Built-in Mobile Link™ Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to monitor generator status and receive maintenance alerts through a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer. The Evolution™ controller features a digital LCD display for checking operating information and maintenance intervals. Quiet-Test™ mode runs the generator at a lower speed during scheduled self-tests, helping reduce noise and fuel consumption.
The durable aluminum enclosure features a corrosion-resistant powder-coated finish designed for outdoor installation. Generac’s pressure-lubricated engine is built for dependable standby operation and reduced routine maintenance compared with many conventional engines. Professional installation is recommended to ensure proper electrical connections, fuel supply, ventilation, and compliance with local codes.
